Quote from the Nominator: “A community advocate, researcher, and engineer, Dr. Feihong Nan has spent over 10 years sharing the Chinese Canadian experience in Mississauga and engaging the community in the celebration of Mississauga’s diverse cultural heritage. As the founder of the Canadian division of Yuan Yin Group, Feihong has been leading over 300 performers and volunteers on annual base in an effort to accelerate the impact of diverse cultural heritage, which includes organizing annual fund-raising concert featuring Qin, a UNESCO Intangible Heritage and a Chinese classical music with a 3000-year tradition. Also, she brought the musicians and students in GTA together on the stage in Mississauga, to combine the flavour and texture of Eastern music and the orchestral colour and sensitive lyrics of western culture. Every year, the concert is full house and all the net proceeds have been donated to Hospital for Sick Children and The SickKids Foundation.
